Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #93 - Holiday

Hello friends - so happy that you've popped in to visit me today!
Time for another weekly challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More (ATSM)!
ATSM Challenge #93 is "Holiday".  You get to choose which holiday -
or maybe your creation is about a holiday
(oh man would I LOVE a holiday to somewhere tropical about now).

We have a wonderful sponsor again this week - ARandomFan

Here's my DT card using one of the sponsor images called Moonlight Dream.

I made this card for Mother's Day. The inside says "begin with you".
I left the "Mother's Day" sentiment off the card because
I thought it would be good for someone to give to a special woman friend
if they don't have a mother any more but want to recognize a special relationship
with someone who is like a mother, or just to celebrate them on  the holiday.

I hope that you will decide to join us this week with a holiday card or creation.
The rest of my lovely ATSM DT pals have made some wonderful holiday cards
to inspire you to play along.  Won't you please go visit them too?

Oh...and if you use one of the sponsor images (like I did) you could also link up to the
ARandomFan Challenge #7 - Anything Goes.  This is my second entry there.

I'm also linking up to the following challenges:
Through the Craft Room Door - TTCRD April 29 - May 5th "Anything Goes"
The Outlawz - Monday Greetings (Anything Goes this week).

So that's it for me tonight :o).
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

I'm here for you...BIG HUGS

Hello friends, happy Monday to you - hope it's a good start to your week :o)

I'd like to share with you a card that I made for a very special friend of mine.
She's so special to me that I consider a sister from another mother :o)
She's been facing a very tough decision with her beloved friend and horse
and I want to let her know how much I care.

Here's my card:
Digital image by Your Next Stamp: Gretchen with Jolly

I've had the idea for this card rolling around in my head for nearly two weeks
and finally got the chance to make it a reality.

The woodgrain panel is actually a stamped image.  I love how it looks like designer paper.
I'm really tickled with how this turned out. I guess sometimes it's a good thing
to have an idea brewing in your head for awhile.  It turned out exactly as I had hoped.

I'm entering my card in the following terrific challenges:

The Outlawz - Monday Greetings (anything goes this week)
4 Crafty Chicks - #191 Embossing
Crafting From the Heart Challenge #16 - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz Challenge #228 - Anything Goes

Here's my April Showers creation to share with you:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine - Emily Lollipop and Sunshine Umbrella

I left the sentiment off my card this week (something I don't often do) because I felt
that this could be used for some many occasions/reasons that I didn't want to limit my options.

I'm loving that I'm starting to see buds on the trees and hearing birds in the morning.
By golly...spring must really be here!

I sure hope that you will decide to join the fun this week at MTTC Challenge #245!  The other lovely ladies on our DT and our fabulous guest designer have made some wonderful creations to inspire you this week.  Please go visit them and say "hi"!

Decorated "Merry" - 52CCT April Stash Challenge - Glitter

Hello friends!  Here we are to the weekend and time for another challenge at 52 {Christmas}Card Throwdown - where we are helping you get your Christmas cards ready one week at a time :o)
Deborah has chosen the 52CCT April Stash Challenge which is to use Glitter
Yep - that's right - Glitter!  We think that most of you must have some of this in your stash in some form.  For example, bottles of glitter, glitter glue, glittery stickers, glitter paper. Hmmm...am I missing anything?

I LOVE the look of glitter - but HATE the mess of it.
Most of my glitter stash is in the form of glitter glue and stickers.
I do have some glitter paper that doesn't flake off  on everything that I like as well.
So... here's what I came up with using some glitter from my stash. Take a look:
As you can see, I went to my cardstock sticker stash and made something fun :o)
It's kind of hard to see the glitter so here's a closer view:

Oh dear - I don't know what's wrong with this photo. I apologize for the poor quality!
Hopefully the glitter stuff at least shows better.

I had this negative die piece sitting on my desk from a previous card.  It worked perfectly
for me to use and participate in the Merry Monday Challenge #105
which is to use a Christmas word or words and decorate each letter of the word.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:
Simply Create Too Challenge #60  'Stack Um Up' - use at least 2 layers

So will you join us for the 52CCT April Stash Challenge?  You can use a lot or a little glitter.
The rest of my lovely DT pals have made some wonderful glittery creations to inspire you.
Please go visit them and say "hi". We love to hear from you :o)

Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

Happy Birthday Wishes

Hello again friends! Last post for the evening to share the card I made for my precious
daughter. She had seen the image after I colored it up during a Live Colour Along session
with Alyce from Kit and Clowder (where I've been taking skin & hair coloring classes).
She asked me to please, please make her birthday card with it this year.
So of course I did :o)
She squealed with delight when she saw it.
I must admit that I'm pretty happy with how it turned out too.
Take a look:
Digital image "Icy" by The Greeting Farm

It felt strange making her a wintry birthday card when her birthday was just
two days after Easter - but here's a little story about my daughter.

Our precious little girl was born nearly 6 weeks early on her Daddy's birthday.
I went into pre-term labor with her and we spent nearly two days in the hospital on meds.
In the midst of this - my husband gets either the flu or a case of food poisoning
(still not sure which it was) and has to leave me.  Miraculously my labor stops and
I'm able to go home the next day.  Two days later, and when my husband is better,
my labor starts again and back to the hospital we go. After a very scary situation
in which we lost her heart beat and were prepping for emergency c-section -
suddenly she decides that she is ready and she came into this world very quickly.
And...on her Daddy's birthday :o) just exactly, I'm sure, as she had always planned.
Every day since she does things in her own way and in her own time.
Oh my, you should have seen some of the outfits she would dress herself in - lol!
So, for her to have a winter birthday card on her spring birthday
just seems par for the course - and if it makes her happy, it makes me happy :o)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Sweet Stampin Challenges - Lots of Layers
Sketchy Challenges #71 Cordine's Sketch (see sketch I used below)
Squirrel and Fox Challenge #68 - Use Die Cuts or Punches (I used both)

Here's the card I made for the 'ol man in my life - LOL!
Digital image by Bugaboo Digis:  Gus Birthday - Old Fart

So really my DH is not even 50 yet but this image so cracked me up that I couldn't resist.
DH has a blue robe (just like this) and some brown slippers that he wears
(fortunately NOT bunny slippers!).  Thankfully he doesn't smoke a pipe and
sadly he doesn't have as much hair as Gus.  A lot less upkeep though -hahahaha!

Anyway...it made him laugh and he said he really likes it.  Hope you do too :o)

ATSM #91 - Anything Goes

Hello friends! Time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!
ATSM Challenge #91 is "ANYTHING GOES" - Yahoo!! This is a very popular challenge.
I'm already getting my fingers all nimbled up to be leaving lots of comments this week :o)

We have a fabulous sponsor this week - ARandomFan

Here's my card using the sponsor image called "Underwear Hero":

This image reminds me so much of my own son (who is now in college).
He used to grab the underwear out of the basket (usually clean ones :o))
and put them on his head racing through the room dressed much
like this image is (no shoes though).  He might be a bit mortified that
I shared this with you but it's a wonderful memory!

I've mentioned a time or two that I've been taking some on-line skin and hair
coloring classes.  I actually colored this image quite early on before
I had gotten too far into the hair tutorials.  Kind of disappointed with how
the hair turned out - but then I have to remember that I'm still learning
and this image is just too cute not to share with you.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
FUSION - I used the sketch (rotated)

and

Sending Many Thanks

Hello friends!  A quick post from me tonight to share a card I made but have almost
forgotten to get posted in time for the deadline - yikes!  I was so busy this weekend with
taxes (mine and family members) that it almost slipped right by me.
No worries though - looks like I'll just make it!
Here it is - hope you like it :o):
Stamp by Kraftin' Kimmie - part of the Dream Big set

I made this card for my Grandma as a thank you for a recent birthday gift.

Happy Easter!

Hello friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day wherever you are :o)  Easter is just
around  the corner and such a wonderful time to reflect on our blessings.
Especially the greatest blessing of all.

I'm looking forward to spending time with family and trying a couple new recipes from my
Pioneer Woman cookbook (I got the holiday one for my anniversary).

I've probably made more Easter cards this year to send to my friends and family
than I ever have before.  There are so many cute patterned papers, stamps and digital
images with Easter themes - it's futile to resist the urge to create :o).

Take a look at my newest Easter card please:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine - "Rory's Eggstra Delivery"

This is Rory. Isn't she sweet?  She was so much fun to color!
Her big sack of eggs makes my kind of sad that my kids are too "big"
now for the annual Easter egg hunt which was a tradition of ours for a very long time.
I'd hide them for myself - but with the way my memory has been lately,
I might not find them until August - LOL.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges today:
Alphabet Challenge - E for Easter
Digi Haven - Easter Challenge with a Twist to use Brown
Creative Card Crew #59 - Spring
Divas by Design - Easter/Spring
Crazy 4 Challenges 231 - The Crazies get their Egg on (use an egg on your project)

Hello friends! Hope your week is going well. I had a wonderful talk with my son last night.
He's doing so well in college and his job - and he has a wonderful girlfriend.
Makes my heart happy to hear him so happy! I was especially tickled
because he said that he saw one of my cards that I posted on Facebook
and was showing it to his roommate and bosses.
What a great kid I have showing off his mama's mad card-makin' skills - LOL!!

I see that I also have a new follower - welcome! So glad you have you along.

Happy Birthday Wishes

Hello friends! Here it is the end of the weekend already.  My card making mojo has been
seriously lagging this past week.  I've been coloring with my copics but was really having
a hard time actually finishing a card.  I suddenly got a huge burst of creative energy
this evening and managed to put together 3 cards - just because. Whoo Hoo!
I think it might have been that cup of coffee I had with dessert tonight :o)
In any event, I'm so tickled to have had some very productive crafting time
and would really like to share what I've done with you.

I'll be posting 3 separate times tonight so you don't have to wade through a really long post :0)

Here's card #1 of 3 for today:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine - Penelope Pansy

This little sweetie is a digi called Penelope Pansy - from Heather's Flower Pot Pretties.
I got her for free by participating in the last Lacy Sunshine Challenge #29 (a Loyalty Program benefit).
I colored her up with copic markers.  Her wavy hair proved to be a bit of a challenge
for me and I messed up her face shading a bit, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches #130 (FMS130) - where I got the great layout
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will come back to visit me for my other two cards also. Hugs D

Hi again - back with my second card for the evening.
I made this card for a friend who is going through a tough stretch of life right now.

Really its a great thing for all of us to remember - don't you think?

Monday morning will be here much too quickly
and I will be dragging myself desperately into the kitchen for coffee

This time I have an Easter card to share with you - take a look:
Digital image by Bugaboo digis.

Celebrate - Birthday or New Job

Hello friends!  Just finished a card that has been rolling around in my head for a few days - take a look :o)
Stamp: from "Hey Hot Stuff" - Kraftin' Kimmy

Isn't she a lovely lady?  I started down the path of making this a birthday card but then decided that it might also make a great congratulations on your new job card.  I have two friends that this will work for nicely.
I guess I'll see which occasion comes up first  before putting a message on the inside :o).
Still practicing my copic coloring skills with skin and hair and am pleased with how this turned out.

My own birthday is coming up next week - the big "49" - eek!  I'm not exactly sure how I got to this age so fast. Sometimes I feel a lot younger (mentally) and sometimes I feel a lot older (physically) - LOL.  My sister and brother-in-law took me and my DH out to dinner tonight at my very favorite restaurant.  We had a really great evening and I ate wayyyy more than I should have. So...I'm sitting up and waiting until my stomach doesn't feel like I swallowed a bowling ball before climbing into my bed.  I have really weird dreams if I go to bed with an over-full tummy (or after drinking wine too late).  Does that happen to you too?
Doesn't seem to bother DH - I can hear him down the hall snoring to beat the band :o)

Anyhoo...I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Always Playing with Paper - The Challenge #3 where I got this great design for my card

4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #188 - Color a Stamped Image (digital or rubber)
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Kraftin' Kimmie - Wonderful Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me - I'm sure glad that you did.
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

I love her classy style.  If you go visit her blog - Created by Pat - I'll just bet you'll agree :o)

This month Deborah is our hostess and her first weekly challenge is this sketch:
 -
You can flip the sketch or make it a square shape to suite your own creative style,
but please be sure we can still see the bones of the sketch.

For my DT creation this week I chose to make a tall, skinny card (3.5" x 6").
Digital image by Bugaboo - "ginger bowl"

I colored the image with my copic sketch markers (my favorite way to color an image)
E25, E27, YG13, YG15, E31, E35, Y11, Y13, Y15, R29 and N00
then I fussy cut around the image and popped it up a bit with dimension dots.

So...are you ready to make a Christmas card this week?
The rest of our lovely DT at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown have made some wonderful creations
to share with and inspire you this week based on Deborah's great sketch.
Please go visit them and say "hi".  We love to hear from you!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Christmas Card Challenges #18 - Favorite Coloring Medium (copic markers).
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - April 2014 "Anything Goes"
Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge - Gingerbread Challenge
Sister Act Card Challenges - Challenge #51 "Anything Goes"

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I'm sure glad you did!
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

ATS&M Challenge #89 - CAS

Hello friends and followers - so nice to have you stop by today to visit my blog.
Oh gosh - here it is a new month already.  March came in and out like a lion here.
Now I guess we will be looking forward to April showers and spring flowers.

Time for another weekly challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!
ATS&M Challenge #89 is CAS.
You can pick any theme or color to use as long as it's Clean and Simple.
CAS means little or no embellishments, limited layers
and open space around the main image  (generally called white space
- but it doesn't have to be "white" - just uncluttered and not too busy for the eye).
Here's my DT card to share with you this week:

The darling image on my card is by our ATS&M Sponsor this week, Kathryne from StampArt Design
there is a prize of 5 digis up for grabs to our Top Addict this week.

Will it be you?  It's kind of like winning the lottery - you can't win if you don't play.
That's what my husband tells me each week as he buys his tickets.
But so far I still have to go to work each week.  I'm just saying...
He might have better luck at entering handmade cards in some challenges - LOL.
Oh well - I don't talk about his buying lotto tickets and he doesn't talk about
the boxes that get left on our door step quite often with my newest treasures :o)
Someday he might actually win & I can make cards all day long & get lots of boxes - hehe.

But I digress... back to the ATS&M Challenge #89 CAS details.
We have a new guest designer for the next couple of challenges -
the sweet and uber-talented Bonnie Klass from Stamping with Klass.
Please go check out the inspiration from the rest of our lovely DT this week .
While you are visiting them leave a little love if you are so inclined.
We love to hear from you!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create #65 - "Anything Goes" w/optional twist Create you Own Color Challenge
I didn't see my color combo listed so not sure if I meet the option part - blue, coral and green.
and
Simply Create Too Challenge #58 - "Easter or use Bunnies"

Hope to see your cards/creations in the ATS&M gallery this week.
Til next time... hugs and happy crafting! D
