Christmas Charm - 52CCT November Sketch & MTTC #265 "Charmed"

Happy weekend sweet friends and followers!
This week the stars aligned for me creatively and
I was able to combine my two DT challenges into
one card. Kind of nice when that happens :o)

I'm in a Christmas mood and getting very, very close
to having my stash of Christmas cards done
and ready to go for 2014 - yay me!

If you are just getting started on your Christmas cards
for the season these two challenges might give your
creativity a jump start.

The challenge this first week of November at
is this fabulous sketch

and the challenge at My Time to Craft (MTTC)
is "Charmed". So for MTTC #265, We want to see
a charm on your beautiful creation.

Are you ready to see how I combined these two challenges?
Here it is:
Digital image by Sassy Cheryl's Stamps - "Snow Much Love"

If this image doesn't make you say "awwww"
I'm not sure what's wrong with ya' - JK :o)
Seriously though I came across it and just couldn't resist it.

I decided to do something a bit unusual for me
and use neutral and warm colors rather than the
bright and somewhat non-traditional
colors I seem to favor.

I used a new embossing strip that I got free
recently with my purchase of a cardmaking magazine.
Really love how this turned out!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew #73 - Bows
Festive Friday #43 - photo inspiration

Jingle Belles Challenges - Not a Creature was stirring
Penny's Paper Crafting Challenges #201 - Anything Goes
The Outlawz - Friday Coloring Challenges - AG w/Christmas twist
Sassy Cheryl's Neighborhood - November Challenge - AG

I hope that I've inspired you to play along with us this week
at either/or 52CCT November Sketch Challenge
& MTTC #265 - Charmed.
My lovely and talent DT pals at each of these challenges
have made some amazing creations to further inspire you.
Won't you go visit them and see?
Thanks so much for stopping by - I'm sure glad that you did.

Happy Halloween - Too Cute to Spook!

Happy Halloween friends!
Sounds like we will have a nice warm evening here
for the trick-or-treaters.
That doesn't happen too often in Montana.
It will be nice to see the costumes instead of just coats :o)

I have a card to share with you today that I made
for my "Bootiful" daughter - take a look:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine - "Monster Boo"

I asked her what her favorite Halloween character
or image is and she said "monsters".
So I looked in my digi files and found this adorable
image by Lacy Sunshine that is just perfect for her.
I used some of my new Doodlebug papers (my favorite line)
that looks a bit like all the doors from the movie "Monsters Inc."
Then added the paper with the eyes and some more google eyes.
She LOVED how it turned out and it  made me very happy!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Catz Challenge #253 - Anything Goes

52CCT - October Stash Challenge - Enamel Dots

Hello to my wonderful crafty friends.
Hope life is treating you well :o)

Just got back from the movie theater so am
kind of scurrying to get my post done in time for this
next weekly challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.
We saw "The Judge" with Robert Downey Jr. and
Robert Duval.  It was so good!!
And "oh my be still my heart"...that Robert Downey Jr.
is still such a babe. Those brown eyes of his just make me melt.

Ooops..I digress! You probably would like to know what the challenge is!
This week at 52CCT we have an Stash Challenge for you
Oooohhh this one is right up my alley. I LOVE to use
enamel dots and candy dots on my cards.
I'll just bet there are plenty of you crafters out there
that also have a stash of enamel dots to use.

Here's my card to inspire you this week:

I rescued this card base from last week.  I had started
with washi tape for my one layer card and then I just wasn't
feeling it.  This week I added a house  from my new stamp set
called Homemade Holidays and the coordinating die (Stampin' Up!).

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More! - Challenge #118 Holiday
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra for October
CASology - Home (I hope this qualifies as CAS)

The rest of the lovely team at 52CCT have also
made some wonderful creations to inspire you to play along

MTTC#263 - Tag It!

Hello friends and followers - happy weekend!!
The month of October is just practically evaporating for me.
This 3rd week of the month at My Time to Craft (MTTC)
we have a little different and fun challenge for you.
MTTC #263 is Tag It!

We want to see your tags - not attached to a card or project.
Just a good ol' tag!  Here's mine for this week:

I mustache you...do you like it?  LOL
I used my new mustache die - just love it -
and popped it up using dimensional dots.
I colored the image with my Stampin' Blendabilities markers
and added some rhinestones for added bling.

I don't very often make tags but with images as cute as this
I think I might need to make a few more!

I'm entering my tag in the following challenges:
The Crafter's Cafe - Challenge #86 Use an Image with a Hat
Crafting from the Heart - Challenge #40 - Anything Goes

I also made a second tag from the from set (Stampin Up!)
but attached this one to a card.

52CCT - October Recipe Challenge - One Layer Card

Hello friends!
Time for another challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown (52CCT)
Our challenge this week has three little words that strike fear in my crafter's heart
ONE LAYER CARD.
Oh boy...I must admit that this is my least favorite type of card to make.
But there's a reason we call it a challenge - to push our creative styles
and sometimes the challenges are harder for me than they seem to be for you.

So...enough whining...I rose to the challenge and this is what I made.

I stamped with three different blues starting with the
lightest and working my way to darkest.
Kind of reminds me of a blizzard - LOL.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Sister Act #79 - Anything Goes

I hope that you will decide to join us this week at 52CCT
and share your One Layer Christmas Cards with us.
My teamies at 52CCT have made some amazing
one layer cards to share with you.  Please go check them out!

Til next time...hugs and merry crafting! D

Cheers to You! Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #251 (Sketch)

Hello friends - look at that we made it to Friday!
What a week I've had, I'm still trying to catch myself
and keep thinking "what the heck happened to my time?"
In any event...it's almost the weekend - whew!

I started this card last Sunday and finally got it done last night.
There is a sketch at Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge that I just had to play along with.
Here's the sketch for Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #251

And here's what I made using it:

Check out those pompoms! I saw a tutorial on how to
make them using baker's twine and this sweet image
seemed just perfect for such a technique.

Sorry for a short post but I do need to get through
one more day at work so I best be on my way.

I'm also entering these great challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More - Challenge #117 Make Your Mark
Divas by Design - October 15th Texture
The Stamping Chef Challenge #51 - Anything Goes

Celebrating Autumn and Thanksgiving

Hello friends - how are you today?
Are you enjoying the fall weather in the States?
I love fall - the cool evenings and warm nights with the
gorgeous colors of the leaves.
I especially love the fall holiday of Thanksgiving
and all the yummy dishes that our family makes
when we get together to celebrate.

Speaking of fall, I have a card to share with you
using one of Deedee's Digis
fun NEW releases called  "Pilgrim Owls".
Take a look:

I managed to use up some of my stash from a season
or two ago (still love that corn paper) - feeling
pretty good about that, as well as some new
enamel dots that I just had to have :o)
I love the rich warm color combo of this card.
Hope you like it too.

Sentimental Sundays Challenge #228 - Buttons (Sponsored by Deedee's Digis)

Hello sweet crafty friends - thanks so much for stopping in to visit me.
I am on the DT for Deedee's Digis and am excited to share
a card I made for a challenge that Deedee's Digis is sponsoring.

The awesome challenge is Sentimental Sundays
and the Sentimental Sundays Challenge #228 is...Buttons.

Here's what I made to inspire you to play along:

I took a bit a a different interpretation of this challenge and
added lots and lots of digital buttons using one of the newest releases
at Deedee's shop called "Goody Jars".

There is a fabulous tutorial on Deedee's blog about layering
digital images to create a look such as this where the buttons are
placed inside the glass jar.  In addition to the
layering of the images, I also used the re-sizing and rotate tools
to make the buttons different sized and appear as if they
are laying at different angles in the jar.  This was sooooo
much fun to do.  I could have sat and played for hours :o)

I used the pre-colored digis for this card which made it very easy
to layer.  I printed the image twice so I could cut out the top
and the peppermint candy and then create a pop-up of those parts
for dimension.  Really love how this turned out - I hope you do too.

I hope that I've inspired you to play along this week at
Sentimental Sundays Challenge #228 - Add a Button.
The wonderful DT at Sentimental Sundays have made some
terrific creations for your inspiration. Please go visit them and say "hi".
Don't forget...
Deedee's Digis is offering a wonderful prize for this week's challenge.

Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

MTTC Challenge #262 - Santa

Hello friends and followers, hope each of you are doing well!
I'm excited to share my DT card for My Time to Craft (MTTC)
Challenge #262 - "Santa" because I finally used a stamp set
that a dear friend gave me a few years ago (thank you Patrice!)
but it had gotten stuffed in a basket only to be forgotten until now.
Take a look:

I'm just so excited over  how this turned out.  I used my Stampin' Up
markers to color the stamp and get the variation in the colors
Then I ran the image through my Big Shot using my new
Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle dies and cut the image into
3 layers.  After gluing the first layer to the cardstock base
I then used dimensional dots to pop up the second layer.
Ohhh...oops.. before all the adhering I used a sponge dauber
and ran it around all the edges using Baked Brown Sugar ink (SU)
to give it an aged look and more dimension.  The last piece of
the three I dropped down inside the frame I had created with the
other two pieces and viola!! LOVE it :o)
I used a Qtip to give Santa his rosy cheeks and lips.

Here's a look at the very simple inside

I hope that you will join us this week at MTTC #262 and show us
your rocking Santa creations! My lovely and talented DT pals
have also made some fabulous creations for your inspiration.
Please pop on over and say "hi".

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Festive Friday Challenge #42 - Photo Inspiration (colors and bow for me)
Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge #121 - Anything Goes

52CCT October Color Challenge

Hello friends - happy weekend!!
This week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown - 52CCT
we have a color challenge for you.
Take a look at this fun palette:

I used the pinks, the lighter blue and green for my card

The image and sentiment are from a new release digital set
at Deedee's Digis called "Ugly Sweaters". I hand-drew the wonky frame
around the sentiment so that it would stand out a bit more.
I colored it up with my Stampin' Blendabilities markers
in Melon Mambo (light & medium), Old Olive (light & medium)
and Coastal Cabana (light & medium).

This is a tall and skinny card measuring 3 1/2" x 7 ".
I kept it flat  (no embellishments) so that it will be easy to send out.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart #39 - Anything Goes
Jingle Belles  - Pink Christmas (noticeable amount of pink)
Paper Pretties PWC331 - CAS
Sister Act Card Challenge #78 - Anything Goes (sponsored by Deedee's Digis)

I participated online since I couldn't be there IRL.
But... at least I get to have some fun by participating in the challenges
and maybe win some great stuff by doing so.

I've used one of my new sets to make this card - take a look:
Stamp set by Kraftin Kimmie "Hey There Punkin".

Isn't this just the cutest??! I picked up some fun new papers
at a local craft store that were just perfect for this - yay!
I had a lot of fun coloring this image - but I don't think I would choose
to make the door red again as reds are difficult to get just right.
Do LOVE how it looks though :o).

Stamp set by Kraftin' Kimmie - "Hey There Punkin"

Kraftin' Kimmie - Krafty Krop Challenge #6 - CAS

Hello friends and followers - so happy you are here to visit me today!
Last weekend Kraftin' Kimmie held a special event
during which they offered six challenges for us to play along with.

My card today is for the Magical Krafty Krop Challenge #6 - CAS.
I struggle with CAS.  I have a clean style but I like to use lots of
bright designers papers and layers - lots of layers.

However...I do appreciate the CAS style and like to keep
trying my hand at it here and there - just because :o)
So here's my card for this challenge:
Stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie - Wild About You.
Dies - Stitched rectangle and swoops by Lawn Fawn

Still some layers (I can't help myself!) but there is
a lot of white space & no embellishments keeping it CAS.

To get all those bubbles I taped off part of the bear image
then stamped the bubbles & repeated a few times.
I like how it turned out - hope you do too :o).

I am also entering this card in these great challenges:
613 Avenue Create - Challenge #92 Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart Challenge #39 Anything Goes
Crafty Girls Challenge #28 Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit.
Stay tuned as I have about 4 more posts for challenges #2 - #5 as well.
Guess  you will have figured out that I didn't get much  housework done
this weekend with the World Card Making Day celebrations in blogland.

Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

World Card Making Day - Deedee's Digis - Yo Ho Ho

Hello everyone!
Are you as excited as I am that today is World Card Making Day??!!
In honor of this fun event Deedee's Digis is offering a freebie
and a special challenge for us.

Take a look at this fun new set:

and here's my card to share with you today:
inside

Isn't this just the cutest!! I can see lots and lots of reasons to use this great
digi set but for now with Halloween coming soon I decided to use
the fun Trick or Treat image.  I used one of the sentiments on the front
and one on the inside.  I've had these pirate papers in my stash
for a very long time and finally got a chance to use them.
LOVE when that happens!

So...this darling set is available for FREE to inspire you to create something this weekend
 - BUT only until Monday morning at 8:00 AM Pacific Time.
You can get it in the store.

As I  mentioned above, we also have a special challenge going on in honor
of World Card Making Day, you could win a $10 gift code to use in the store.
You have until Monday 9AM Pacific Time to link up your entry.
Check out the challenge blog  to see some fabulous inspiration
from Deedee's team and get more details.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant - TPE270 -Anything Goes
So that's it from me for now! Go get crafty and celebrate
World Card Making Day. It's your excuse to ignore laundry and
cleaning!! Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

My Time to Craft #261 - Die Cuts w/Sentiment only

Oh boy...we made it to the weekend! Yippee!
What special plans do you have?
I'm want to craft my little heart out...
but I do have a lot of cleaning and laundry
that probably should take some priority.
Sigh...so it goes.

But...here's a bright spot...it's time for another
weekly challenge at My Time to Craft (MTTC)!
MTTC Challenge #261 is to use Die Cuts with a sentiment only.
The challenge - should you decide to accept it...
is to use only die cuts on your card.
The only stamping we should see would be for a sentiment -
so get out those fabulous (perhaps neglected) dies and get to crafting!

Here's my card to share with you:

I have always loved dies! There are so many things you can do with them.
For this challenge I made a shaker card - whoo hoo!
The shaker frame and sentiment are both dies.  No stamping at all.
To make the shaker frame I used 2 different sizes of the star die.
I made my own confetti by adding some little bits and pieces that I had
left over from other projects (stars & trees) and some gold sequins.

This was a fairly quick card to make but it definitely will need to be
hand delivered or sent specially due to the shaker frame.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Merry Monday #128 - Use stripes, polka dots or both
The Crafter's Cafe challenge #84 - Use Punches and/or Die Cuts
Virginia's View October Challenge - CAS

My lovely DT pals at MTTC  have also made some gorgeous
creations to inspire  you to play along.  Please go check them out too!

Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D
