Super Cool Pals

Hello friends!  How's the weather in your neck of the woods?
Today was very cold but no snow.  I'm hoping that the
snow holds off for a couple more weeks until both my
kiddos are home for the holidays.  I'm generally not a fan
of snow UNLESS it's at Christmas AND I can build a
snowman.  Speaking of snowmen check out this adorable
fella from the UBER Cute stamp set called SUPER COOL PALS
from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I LOVE this set!
Those sweet sparkly snowflakes were made using the brand
spankin' NEW Sparkling Snowflake Stencil  and some
BoBunny glitter paste in Torquoise.  The strip of snow along
the bottom was made using Liquid Applique (all can be found in
the Kraftin' Kimmie Shop  - follow the links to get your own).

I'd like to enter the following challenges with this card:
and last but certainly not least
My inspiration is the snow and the scarf

Thanks so much for visiting me today!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Happy Fall/Thanksgiving

Hello friends!  Thanksgiving is just around the corner
are you ready?  I have my stretchy pants in the closet just
waiting to jump into them on Thursday morning.
Ohhhh I literally can hardly wait for my favorite dish
PUMPKIN PIE - yum!! I could be happy with just
that and sweet potatoes and scalloped oysters.
What's your favorite?

I only made two Fall/Thanksgiving cards this year.
I thought it would be fun to share them with you
and join a couple challenges too. Hope you like them.

Here's the first:
Details: Stamp set "Grateful Pumpkins" (Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps)
(all from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps). Cardstock (Stampin UP!)
Designer paper and twine from stash.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

and here's the second
Details: Image and sentiment stamped with Marvellous Mocha
hybrid ink (Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps) and colored with copic markers.
Stamp set: "Happy Fall Y'All"  (Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps)
Designer papers from my stash. Cardstock from Stampin UP!

I'd like to enter this card in these challenges

Thanks so much for letting me share with you.
I hope that your Thanksgiving holiday is full of love,
blessings and good food (including my favorite pumpkin pie)!

Stenciled Background Sympathy Cards

Hello sweet friends,
I'm sharing a couple sympathy cards I made yesterday
using a beautiful and versatile new stencil called Sweater Weather
from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I also used the hybrid inks from
Kraftin' Kimmie - Bubbly Blue (brand new) for the background,
Purple Petunia for the setiment, and Purple Pansy for the
floral image on the second card.  I love these new inks.

Here's the first card.  I sponged a little "heavier"
on the stencil to get a deeper background color.

For this card, I wanted the background to be very subtle
so I sponged very lightly through the stencil.
The sentiment on both of these cards is a retired
rubber stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie.
The flower image on the second card is from Stampin' Up.

I tend to only make sympathy cards as I need to send them out.
Making sympathy cards seems to be such a struggle for me. The reason
for them makes me so sad, and yet I know that they are probably
some of the most appreciated cards that I send out. Do you
struggle with making these as well?

I was seeking inspiration to help me make these cards and found the
following card challenge themes to help me

Guest Designing for the Card Concept #100 challenge celebration

Well hello crafty friends!  So nice of you to visit me today.
After many months of a crafting break, I was thrilled when
the lovely Kim asked if I'd like to be a guest designer

And when I saw the beautiful inspiration photo
for this challenge I was even more excited.

Oh my gosh! Seriously sooo many things
you can take for inspiration from this.
I was drawn to the pink and gold colors
and the pumpkins (I LOVE pumpkins!)

I pulled out a bold sentiment stamp called
called Be Full from Neat and Tangled and
made this Clean and Graphic card.
I swished pink distress ink around on my
base panel and then heat embossed the
gorgeous sentiment in gold.

Here's a close up so you can see the embossing a little better

There's a special celebration for this 100th challenge going on
over at the blog so be sure to check it out as well
as the amazing inspiration from the DT there!

Hope my card inspired you in some way.
Hugs and happy crafting! D

Pugs and Kisses

Hello!  I'm so happy to be blogging today after about
6 months of very little crafting time and no blogging.

Our family has had a LOT of changes since February.
I started a new job, we sold our house, downsized into a
new place, our daughter graduated high school, our son
finished his first year of graduate schooling and got married.
And...tomorrow we move our daughter to college and become
empty-nesters. EEEK!  I'm not so sure I like the sound
of that last part of the sentence above.  It will be a change for
us to be sure!  Thankfully she isn't moving terribly far away.

Anyway...back to the reason for this post.  I was asked by
a friend to make a small card for one of her friends who loves pugs.
I jumped at the reason to get crafty and color with my copics again.
She wanted it to be small (less than 4 inches) to fit on a special gift
she was making, a pug on it ( I chose three  because she has three)
and lots of glitter. Oh dear... anyone who knows me knows that
I'm not a huge fan of glitter. I can't handle the mess it leaves
everywhere and it seems like you find it forEVER - LOL.
But I do like glitter paper (much cleaner), so that's what I used.
I used the sketch from the Mix It Up Challenge #46 at SugarPea Designs.
No automatic alt text available.

I used the Caring Critters clear stamp set and dies from
SugarPea Designs. I love this sweet set!
I made the sentiment on my computer because that's what
she wanted it to say.
I found some glittery washi tape to add to the sentiment too.
Here's the finished 3 1/2" square card. She loved it!

I'm entering the following challenges too that fit for this card:

Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me today!
I hope to be back soon and sharing more of my crafty
makes!  Hugs and happy crafting to all of you.  D

Valentines' Day 2018 - My Feelings for You are STRONG

Hello sweet friends!
Did you have a good Valentine's Day?
We kept it low key this year.  I had planned
to make a special dinner since I had the day off
but then the hubster woke up with the flu.
Poor guy!  I followed him around everywhere he
went with the Lysol spray - LOL.  Very romantic, right?!
I'm so freaked out abut getting this as I'm starting a
new job on Tuesday and I need to stay well.
Hopefully we will have our dinner on Friday.

Today I'd like to share the card I made for my husband.
Details: heart beat die cut and Stay Strong stamp set
and coordinating sugar cut are from SugarPea Designs

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Happy 50th Birthday

Hello friends - Happy Monday!
Friday was my middle sister's 50th birthday
and here is the card I made to help her celebrate
this momentous occasion.
the inside says ..."Like WHY did I walk into this room?!"
I tried to break it to her gently that yes this does happen
(and far more often than I'd like to admit) - haha!

This fun sentiment is from a set by Stampin' Up! called
FIVE FOR ALL.

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #323
for the layout and the main color of pink because
well, because....I love pink lol!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
(see the three little candles in the top corner?)
Cupcake Inspiration Challenges CIC439 - photo inspiration
(color the pink frosting on the cupcakes)

That's all for today folks.  Thanks so much for popping in
to visit me again.  Crafty hugs to each of you! D

Fairy Princess Emma (Paper Nest Dolls)

Well hello lovelies so happy you are here to visit me!
I think that was the fastest January on record in
all of my 50+ years on this earth!  Whoosh... suddenly
it's "Welcome to February"  LOL!

I've been taking kind of a crafting and blogging break lately.
I've managed to do a little coloring here and there for
but haven't been able to get a creation finished due to
lack of time, energy and MOJO (sad face).

BUT...I recently won a really awesome prize package
from Christine Young of Paper Nest Dolls that included
some awesome Echo Park papers, a Wink of Stella pen
and enamel dots (as well as a couple stamp/die sets)
and this beautiful digital image called
Fairy Princess Emma.  After coloring her up the other
night for The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge, I found
myself in my craft room today actually finishing a project!!
So Excited! It sure did feel good to get crafty again!
Thanks so much Christine (big puffy heart)!

Here's my finished card - hope you like it!

My layout design is from Sketch Saturday #500
They are having very special celebration for the
500th Sketch at Sketch Saturday and
The Paper Nest Dolls is one of the very
generous sponsors offering a prize of 3 digital images
(like Princess Emma!!)

I'm also entering this card in these challenges as well:

Thanks so much for visiting me today!  I'm off to
watch another episode of Grey's Anatomy with
my darling daughter (she has gotten me addicted)!
Hugs and happy crafting! D

Hello sweet friends and followers!
Welcome to Day ONE of the first release of 2018

Before I tell you about this amazing stamp set being featured
today I'd like to digress just a tiny bit and share some other
news with you.  After four years of being a Krafty Girl
I decided to step down for a while and catch up on
all the other things in my non-crafty life that have been
needing more of my attention.  This was such a difficult
decision for me because I love, love, LOVED being a
Krafty Girl and my wonderful Krafty teamies - but
sometimes real life has to take precedent and
that doesn't mean I can't still sometimes play along!!
I'll always be one of Kraftin' Kimmie's biggest fans!

 So...back to this new release.
I'm delighted to be a guest designer for today's release peek
which is an amazing winter set by artist, Annie Rodrigue
called STACEY SLAPSHOT!  I just adore her!
